Stateline is east of South Lake Tahoe, straddling the border of Nevada and California. Stateline is home to several casinos and resorts, such as MontBleu (formerly Caesar's), Harrah's Lake Tahoe, Horizon, and Harvey's Lake Tahoe.
Stateline and South Lake Tahoe are effectively one town, with the state line intersecting with US Highway 50 immediately after the Harrah's and Harvey's casinos. An express bus runs from the Stateline casinos to Reno-Tahoe International Airport and seasonal shuttles operate to the ski resorts and casinos from South Lake Tahoe.
Kingsbury Grade, aka Nevada state route 207, runs up and over a mountain pass, rising from Lake Tahoe and dropping down to Gardnerville on the other side. Most of Stateline's residential and seasonal accommodations, amenities and services are located on or near Kingsbury Grade.
